The M-800 may be set for line mode (for text and maps) or gray mode (for photos). M-800 controls include: On/Off, Start/Stop, Frame, Speed, Format, Direction, Polarity and AM/FM. Yes, the M-800 can handle FM FAX as found on shortwave or AM FAX as found on some satellite downlinks. The rear panel has a 1/4 inch 2 conductor audio input jack. Output is to a DB25 parallel printer port. The Serial Jack on the rear panel is strictly used as a pass-through for sharing of a serial printer with a separate RTTY decoder (selectable at 300 or 600 baud).
