The Kenwood VS-1 voice synthesizer is a plug-in option for several Kenwood radios. The operating frequency may be announced by press the front panel VOICE switch on applicable models. The VS-1 has a language selector switch which may be set to English or Japanese. There is rotary control which may be used to adjust the volume. The talk speed is set at the factory. However, jumpers may be carefully soldered in to select 30% more speed or 60% more speed.
