The Midland G-225C2 FRS/GMRSS offer great talk range at a modest price. These 2 watt radios are sold in pairs and boast a potential range of 7 miles. The normal day-to-day range will usually be a mile or two. These are 22 channel radio of which 14 are FRS channels. Making them fully compatible will all brands of FRS radios.

They are water resistant for outdoor use and have jacks for optional mics and headsets. A high-low power function saves batteries. Other advanced features include a baclit LCD, eVOX - Easy Voice Activation for hands free operation and keypad lock. There are 5 different call tones and 38 interference eliminator codes. Requires four AAA cells, not supplied. Now it is affordable to stay in touch. Three year manufacturer's limited warranty.
