The Yaesu FT-DX9000 series features huge 3.4 inch (86 mm) metering system with true analog precision and instant reaction time. The left meter is a comprehensive TX/RX meter, operating primarily as the "S-Meter" for the main receiver. The right meter is the S-Meter for the Sub Receiver, and on transmit, serves as an ALC meter for the transmitter, allowing simultaneous monitoring of ALC along with Power Output, Compression Level, Microphone Input Level, PA Current or SWR on the left meter.

On the Contest and MP versions, two additional meters on the right side of the front panel allow monitoring of PA Voltage, Bias, SWR and PA Temperature!
