The Bearcat III is a one-band or two-band, 8 channel crystal controlled scanner. Crystals are not provided. This radio will scan these channels and automatically stop on a channel when a call is heard. Channels may also be manually selected. Each channel features a red LED and an individual lock-out switch allowing you to skip channels not of interest at the time. The Bearcat III features a metal cabinet. Scanning is at 25 channels per second. There is a speaker and external Motorola-type antenna jack on the rear panel. Operation is from 117 VAC or 12 VDC. 9 x 3.675 x 6.125 inches. 5 lbs.
Please note that this model was configurable (by plug-in modules) for either single or two band operation, selectable from the five bands listed below.
