The Davis Vantage Pro wireless employs the latest technology to bring you sophisticated forecasting, on-screen graphing and the easy wireless installation. The huge backlit LCD display (6.5 x 3.5 inches) instantly conveys an immense amount of information. Click here for front view close-up. The fixed display area shows you the most important weather variables at all times including temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. The compass rose shows wind direction to 1° or wind speed. You can view rainfall for minutes, hours, days, month year or storm plus rainfall for last 24 storms. Time and date are shown or you can show time of sunrise and sunset. The variable display area lets you pick between inside or optional temperature or soil moisture (optional sensors required). Or windchill, dew point or two different heat indices. Eight phases of the moon are also displayed on a special icon. Quick view icons show the forecast at a glance --- sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rain or snow --- while a moving ticker-tape display gives more details. Sophisticated forecasting algorithms, not just barometric pressure make this possible. The Vantage Pro utilizes a more frequent update interval --- every 2.5 seconds, compared to the 3 to 15 minutes found on other stations!
The graph section can show last 24 days or months of readings of highs and lows. View over 80 graphs including additional analysis of temperature, rain, rain rate, wind and barometric pressure.
The outdoor sensor suite includes an anemometer, temperature and humidity sensors and rain collector with self emptying tipping bucket. The wireless integrated sensor suite runs on solar power and functions with as little as one hour of sunlight a day. The wireless suite can transmit up to 800 feet line of sight (typical range under most conditions is 150 to 500 feet).
The Vantage Pro Console may be powered using the included AC-power adapter or with three C batteries (not included). One year limited warranty.
The Davis 6150C is a cabled version where the sensor suite is wired to the console. This is version is desireable in high RF environments.
