MFJ-1778

The MFJ-1778 G5RV type antenna covers 10, 15, 17, 20, 30, 40 and 80 meters. It is 102 feet long with a 33 foot lead in made of 450 ohm ladder line. Termination is an SO-239 jack. This antenna can be erected in a dipole or inverted V configuration. It is assembled and can handle up to 1500 watts. An antenna tuner is strongly suggested. Coaxial cable to your transceiver is not provided.

The MFJ-1778M G5RV Junior antenna covers 10, 15, 17, 20, 30 and 40 meters. It is 52 feet long with a 17 foot lead in made of 450 ohm ladder line. Termination is an SO-239 jack. This antenna can be erected in a dipole or inverted V configuration. It is assembled and can handle up to 1500 watts. An antenna tuner is strongly suggested. Coaxial cable to your transceiver is not provided.

Please note that the G5RV design is a balanced antenna fed with a balanced 450 ohm line that terminates to an SO-239 connector. When feeding the antenna with an unbalanced line (such as coaxial cable) it is a good idea to use a 1:1 choke BALUN at the coax feed point connection. The balun will reduce or eliminate parallel currents on the outside of the coax shield. This will reduce RFI, RF feedback, RF burns and other effects of excessive RF in the station.
