![]() The RF Systems Power Isolator is one of the most effective protection devices you can get for your radio system plus it reduces noise. The principle of Magnetic Transfer Isolator is based on the idea, that maximum protection can be reached if there is no connection at all between antenna and receiver. But of course, the signals from the antenna must be able to reach the receiver. The complete separation of antenna and receiver became possible by the Magnetic Transfer technology, developed by RF Systems. Thanks to a special kind of ferrite it is now possible to transfer high frequency signals only by means of a magnetic field, with extremely low loss. In the MT the antenna is directly connected to the lightning earth. Not only the braid of the coaxial cable, but the center conductor the of coax is grounded! This means that induced static charges flow harmlessly to earth. The signals received by the antenna are flowing also to earth. The MT Isolator uses this current, caused by the received signals. The current produces a magnetic field which is an exact copy of the received signals. The magnetic field is picked up and transferred by the special ferrite to the output where it is converted back into the received signal. On side advantage of this approach is reduced noise, especially below 10 MHz. You can also transmit through this device with up to 600 watts p.e.p. SSB. The weatherproof MT Isolator connects between your antenna and your radio with only 0.5 dB (0.3 typical) attenuation. It operates from 500 kHz to 50 MHz. SO-239 input and output. Made in Holland. Like all surge protectors we sell, this device will not offer protection in the event of a direct lightning strike.
