The Hallicrafters R-42 Reproducer features a permanent magnet, dynamic, 8 inch, Jensen-originated bass reflex speaker that provides high quality reproduction (75 - 7500 Hz). There is a switch on the front panel to select Communications or High Fidelity response. There is a 500/600 ohm terminal output on the rear panel.17 x 11.75 x 12.5 inches.

The R-42 was designed as a matching companion for the the SX-42, but will work with many other Hallicrafters models including the SX-28 and SX-43.

The Hallicrafters R-45 is a rack mounting version of the R-42.
