IC-V8000 Scanning

The Icom V8000 has three types of scanning:

FULL SCAN
Scan for activity over the entire band. Great for checking-out overall band activity.

MEMORY SCAN
Scans each memory frequency. Any memory can be slotted as a skip-channel. This is handy for preventing unnecessary stops on constantly busy channels such as the NOAA weather channel.

PROGRAMMED SCAN
Scans the entire spectrum between two user selected frequency points. This is for more specific listening. Up to 3 scan edge pairs can be programmed for maximum flexibility.

The V8000 also has different forms of scan resume. Once the radio pauses on a channel in use, it can resume scanning after:
A predetermined amount of time.
After the signal disappears
After an "empty pause", which seeks unused channels.
