The revolutionary COMPACtenna 40mTHRU440 uses a patented design which includes magnetic-field-enhancement. This allows the extremely short antenna to perform amazingly well for its height. Amazing six band coverage includes:  40, 20, 10, 6 plus 2 meters and 440 MHz! Power capacity is 100 Watts 40 through 6 meters, 85 Watts 2 meters and 50 Watts 440. This break-through antenna was designed by Dr. Jack Nilsson N8NDL and offers superior performance on six popular amateur bands.

This antenna employs a unique magnetic field resonator (for less receiver noise), and features Electric/Magnetic Field Diversity Science & Technology design. This provides superior performance in non-line-of-sight obstructed environments, such as buildings, hills, in valley location, and indoor installations. This technology provides for a unique low-cost easy installation base station antenna in an attic as well as a variety of limited-space locations.

The 40mTHRU440 antenna require a 3/8"-24 mount not included (see below). This antenna may be used successfully with a very small ground plane. A simple 3/8x24 magnetic mount can be set on a 36 by 48 inch galvanized metal plate (available from Home Depot) or even a metal table! The magnetic mount shown above is not included. The result is a compact, yet effective antenna for a variety of applications.

Mounting the antenna to a small flat metal sheet or mesh that is only 3 feet by 3 feet provides good (V)SWR’s and performance.
[Note: For standard type technology antennas, a ground plane this small would be inadequate for the 6 Meter band, potentially resulting not only in poor (V)SWR’s but also RF on the outside of the coaxial shield coming back down toward the radio. This is undesirable for a number of reasons including unpredictable signal patterns with the outside of the shield of the coax acting as a poor counterpoise radiator, as well as noise, and transceiver/amplifier possible concerns.]

(V)SWR: Nominal < ~2:1 7.175 - 7.275 MHz (40 Meter Band*); 14.175 - 14.325 MHz (20 Meter Band*); 28.3 - 28.7 MHz (10 Meter Band*); 50-54 MHz (6 Meter Band); 144-148 MHz (2 Meter Band); 420-450 MHz (440 Band).
* And typically tunable with external tuners to the entire 40 Meter, 20 Meter, and 10 Meter Bands; with internal tuners typically the entire 40 Meter and 20 Meter Bands, and 28.0 - 29.0 MHz of the 10 Meter Band
