[B&W AP-10B]

For over 40 years Barker & Williamson has been manufacturing the AP-10 series of antennas designed especially for those home owners, renters and travelers who cannot put up a permanent outdoor antenna. The latest model, the AP-10B attaches quickly and easily to most types of windows, chairs, tables, balcony railings, etc, with a super strong 3/16 inch aluminum bracket with built-in C clamp and SO-239. It tunes a very low SWR and puts out a remarkably potent signal on any frequency from approx 7 through 30 MHz - that covers the 40 through 10 meter bands. Power rating is 300 watts CW/SSB. Coverage of 6 and 2 meters is also included.

The AP-10B consists of:  an aluminum mounting bracket with built-in clamp and SO-239, a telescoping whip which collapses to less than 23 inches for easy travel, a high-Q airwound base loading coil assembly with fly lead for clip-on tuning, an insulated counterpoise wire, and a 10 foot coax cable with assembled PL-259's to connect to your radio.

In use, the coil assembly is attached to the bracket, and the whip to the top of the coil assembly. The antenna is clamped to the mounting surface, and the whip is extended. The fly lead position is selected on the loading coil for the desired band. The counterpoise wire is then unrolled across the floor to the proper length for that band. With minimal power, the counterpoise length is then fine adjusted for best SWR. Click here to view components.

The AP-10B is similar to the AP-10A, but features an SO-239 connection.
