The Drake 9-NB is a solid-state Noise Blanker designed to blank out noise pulses. It is effective on strong periodic noise pulse such as ignition noise or noise generated by power lines. It is less effective against random noise such as atmospheric or contact noise. No special tools are required for installation inside the TR-6.
