The National NCX-5 amateur transceiver covers 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters (28.5-29 MHz furnished and 3 positions optional) in CW, AM, LSB and USB modes. Power is 200 watts input SSB PEP, 200 watts CW and 100 watts AM. Features include:  dual conversion receiver, digital frequency readout to 1 kHz, VOX, RIT and RF Gain. The 1/4 inch code key and headphone jacks are on the rear panel.

The later National NCX-5 Mark II has an identical appearance, but has different internal adjustments and an internal module.
