The Yaesu FT-51R/38 dual band HT utilizes two microprocessors to permit easier operation and more features than ever before. All in the palm of your hand. It has a sculpted die-cast alloy rear case/heatsink and thick high impact polycarbonate plastic front panel. Preprogrammed user help messages guide you through most operational functions via the second line on the two line alpha-numeric display. A built-in spectrum scope shows you band activity above and below the selected channel. Dual receive supports the reception of two signals within a band (V/V, U/U) or on two bands (V/U). Other enhancements include: cross-band repeat, DTMF paging, auto tone search and power saver circuit.

The FT-51R operates on 2 meters from 144-148 MHz with 5, 3, 1.5, 0.5 watts or 20 mW and on the 440 MHz from 430-450 MHz with 5, 2.5, 1.5, 0.5 watts or 20 mW. This HT comes with:  FNB-38 NiCad battery, charger and BNC flexible antenna. (57x123x27mm 330g).

The Yaesu FT-51R/31 is the same radio, but with the lower powered FNB-31 battery.
