Comet CAA-500 Mark II

The Comet CAA-500 Mark II antenna analyzer is a professional class instrument for measuring SWR, resonance and impedance. It features a highly sensitive, high precision Yokogawa meter for measurement accuracy in 35 ranges covering 1.8 to 500 MHz. Impedance is 12.5 to 300 Ohms. VSWR 1:1 to infinity. Digital readout accurate to 1 kHz.

The new COMET CAA-500MarkII retains the cross-needle analog function and adds a full-color TFT LCD providing graphic and numerical SWR and total impedance with R and X values. The normal screen displays a wealth of information simultaneously! The controls are easy to operate. You can press the Sweep Center button to automatically sweep an amateur of choice and the SWR graphed in seconds. The multiple manual sweep graph will overlay manual sweeps in 5 different colors! You can make antenna length, position, height above ground, gamma match adjustments etc., and graph each adjustment in seconds in a new color without losing the previous graph! Is that cool or what?

The CAA-500 will operate for up to ten hours from six alklaine or NiMH AA cells (not supplied). It will also operate from an external 12 VDC source via a jack on the left panel. A DC power cable is supplied. There is an SO239 input jack for 1.8-300 MHz and a female N for 300-500 MHz. This extremely well-built instrument is extremely effective, yet very easy to use. We saw this meter in action at the 2015 Dayton Hamvention, and it is most impressive.
