The Kenwood MC-80 is an affordable omnidirectional electret condenser desk mic. It features UP-DOWN tuning (on compatible Kenwood transceivers) plus a built-in pre-amp. There is a switch for PTT (push to talk) and also a lock feature. The mic impedance is 700 ohms so it can be used with a wide range of models. The frequency response is 200 to Hz to 7 kHz. There is a potentiometer adjustment on the rear panel of mic stand to adjust the output level. The mic terminates to a standard 8 pin mic plug. The preamp requires four AA cells (not supplied) which are inserted in the bottom.

The optional Kenwood MJ-88 8 Pin to Modular Adapter will allow this mic to be used on such models as the TM-261A, TM-271A, TM-742, TMD-700A, TM-G707A, TM-V7A and TMV-708.
