The Tecsun PL-398MP is a capable longwave, AM, FM and shortwave receiver and doubles as a music player! To use the PL-398 as a music player simply plug in an SD card (not supplied) with your favorite MP3 tunes. The controls are easy to use. You can tune your favorite stations several ways with this radio:  manual tuning, auto scan tuning, pre-setting manual scan tuning, memory pre-setting auto scan tuning, memory pre-setting address direct entry tuning and direct frequency entry via the keypad. Both the display and input keys are backlit. You get a total of 550 memories:  100 each for LW, MW and FM, and 250 for shortwave. The display shows frequency, signal strength, battery consumption and temperature. The dual built-in speakers provide stereo sound. The clock can be set for 12 or 24 hour format and has a sleep timer. Other features include:  key lock, meter band display, alarm by radio or buzzer. This radio operates from three AA cells (not supplied) or external 5VDC adapter (not supplied). Includes stereo ear buds, audio jumper cable,wrist strap and cloth carry case.
