The Paradan Dual Antenna Disconnector is similar in principle to the original Paradan Antenna Disconnect, but automatically disconnects two antennas from your radio and grounds both antennas. The Disconnector prevents static-discharge, surges, and lightning-strike effects from damaging your radio and associated equipment. When the transceiver is turned OFF, the antennas’ signal and ground wires are shorted together and grounded, and both the coax centers and coax shields are disconnected from the radio. When the transceiver is powered ON, the Disconnector re-connects both antennas for normal operating. Power for the Disconnector comes from the transceiver’s auxiliary power jack (usually and RCA phono jack). Or connect it to your power supply that you turn off when not operating. For those radios without an auxiliary power socket and you leave the supply on, a separate unit, the Radio ON Sensor unit is used to sense if the radio is turned on. For correct operation the Disconnector requires a good earth type ground. The unit comes with a ring terminal, four barrel connectors, and a Powerpole® connector pair. The Dual Antenna Disconnector is excellent for protecting remote stations from lightning surge. Made in the U.S.A.

NOTES & CAUTIONS:
This device may not offer protection in the event of a direct lightning strike.
Because this device is in series with your antenna, it is very important that see the green LED light up when your turn ON the radio. Also listen to the radio to confirm the antenna is connected. Readjust your tuner, especially if added any coax jumpers. Check SWR before transmitting.
Grounding is extremely important. For effective operation, used number 10 wire or heavy braided strap to a direct conduction path to ground. Connecting to the transceiver's ground panel is incorrect because it will obviate the coax-unplug feature of the unit.
