Discontinued Shortwave Antennas | |
The RF Systems EMF Electro-Magnetic Field passive wire antenna is complete and ready to go covering 100 kHz to 30 MHz. The EMF is only 16 feet (5 meters) long and with 16 foot (5 meters) of RG-174 coax and PL-259. The lead in coax is also used as a counterpoise for the antenna. A connection to ground is therefore not required. A special matching network ensures that the antenna is low impedance and makes it possible to connect the antenna directly tho 50 ohm antenna input of the receiver without an antenna tuner. In the center module the received signals are transferred to the receiver by means of a magnetic field. The magnetic transfer technology acts as a screen of Faraday which results in reduced atmospheric noise and interference caused by static. The reception with an EMF is therefore quieter than a normal wire antenna with direct connection to the receiver. The EMF antenna is for receive only and can be used indoors or outdoors. The modules of the EMP are filled with polyurethane and completely waterproof. The eye on the magnetic module is made of stainless steel. The antenna lead in cable is high quality RG174/U coaxial cable. The supplied 10 foot (3 m) mounting rope is woven polyester. Made in Holland. |
