The Kaito KA33 is an active shortwave, wire loop antenna that covers the AM band [MW] and shortwave 3.9 to 22 MHz. The KA33 has dual outputs. If your portable shortwave radio has an 1/8 inch mini antenna jack you can plug this antenna directly in. For shortwave radios without an antenna jack, you also get simple clips for direct connection the radio's telescopic whip antenna. There is a special Ferrite bar inductive coupler for use on the AM band. The control box has an LED to remind you when the antenna is turned on. There is a Tuning Knob on the control box that should be adjusted as you change frequency. Click here to view a system diagram.

This antenna is designed for indoor use only. The KA33 requires two AAA cells (not provided). Please note that the KA33 has replaced the KA31.
