![]() The RF Systems MLBA-MK3 consists of a heavy duty stainless steel 41 foot (12.5 meters) wire, nylon rope and a quality insulator. At the feed-line end the antenna is connected to a stainless steel version of RF systems' patented Magnetic Longwire Balun. This balun permits an exceptionally low loss transference of antenna energy to your coax feed line. The result is significantly reduced static noise on long, medium wave and the tropical shortwave bands (60 and 90 meters). It is for receive only 100 kHz - 40 MHz. Because of the magnetic transfer technology used, it picks up far less RF interference from home appliances than other antennas. The RF Systems MLBA-MK4 is a longer 66 foot (20 meters) version of above for improved longwave and medium wave reception. It covers 0.1-30 MHz. Both versions may be erected horizontally or vertically. However, the optimum configuration is shown above (sloping at about 30°). Click here to view frequency chart. The MLBA-MK4 version is discontinued. Both the MLBA-MK3 and MLBA-MK4 systems include the stainless steel MLB balun, stainless steel antenna wire, end insulators, nylon rope and 49 feet (15 m) of RG58 coaxial cable plus and unattached PL259 plug. These antennas are for receive only. They will be an especially strong choice for those living near the ocean or in bad weather areas, as the stainless steel components with weather better than copper. Additional lightning-surge protection devices are suggested for most installations. |
