The AOR AR16B fits in your shirt pocket yet covers 500 kHz to 1300 MHz (less cellular). Modes include:  NFM, WFM and AM. The AR16B has 500 memories organized into five banks of 100 channels each. There are 21 preset frequency bands. Other enhancements include:  rotary tuning dial, signal strength meter, backlit LCD, automatic squelch, twelve channel steps and built in speaker.

The AOR AR16B comes with SMA flexible antenna, two NiMH AA cells and slow AC charger. 2.4 x 4.2 x 1.2 inches 5.4 oz.

The AOR AR16U was a full-coverage, unblocked version that included a voice descrambler feature. This model was not distributed in the United States.
